Amazing community coffee shop with great food (try the halloumi sandwich!) and such friendly staff. I popped in for a coffee one day and felt so welcomed, I decided to come back another time the day after! A great spot for working, studying, having lunch/coffee in Cardiff!

This is worth finding. Why? Independent - which means the people behind the counter are "fully human", engage with you, smile even and care about their product bc they want to honestly make a difference. The coffee is wonderful quality and tasted top-notch. Didn't try the food, but the menu looked good. Maybe a minor gripe / set expectations, if you are after a rapid in-and-out coffee purchase (like a chain coffee experience) you might be disappointed cos quality doesn't come quickly. As you will see from the photos... Oh, and store a bicycle inside? Securely? Nice touch. Summary: people, passion and patience make for amazing coffee experience. Thank you.

These guys have a winning vibe of a cafe. I see them go over and above for each and every customer, serving fresh food and drinks with amazing service. If you're looking for a space for a lovely cup of coffee, some food and a little laptop work, or a meeting (they also have a quiet meeting space!) this is the place for you!

Nice and friendly place. Love the sandwich - huuge portion!! Definitely come here for coffee and to get away from the busy Queen Street. It’s located in a corner on a beautiful street in town. (Pictures are all from different visits, months apart.)

I really enjoyed my time at The Bike Lock. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed, perfect for reading, working, or just enjoying a quiet coffee. The staff were friendly, the service was quick (they bring everything to your table), and they even offered an NHS discount. Lots of natural light, beautiful views of the trees and church, and plenty of seating with plug sockets for devices. The coffee was a good size, tasted great, and was well priced. I love my peaceful moment on the sunny day—highly recommended.

Wow what an excellent idea! Safe storage for my ridiculously expensive e-bike, good coffee, excellent food, great staff, great atmosphere and just great! The only thing I would add if possible maybe in the future would be staying open later and opening earlier for those that get an early train/coach out or late train/coach back into Cardiff. I hope to see more of these kinds of places around the country as even when you lock your bike up securely it can still get vandalized. I would definitely get a yearly membership but unfortunately probably not going to be in cardiff too much longer.

Without doubt the best coffee shop in Cardiff. Staff very welcoming and friendly, great selection of tasty food at an affordable price. Also great service and consistently great coffee on offer. Highly recommended

The Bike Lock is a must-visit for coffee lovers and cyclists alike! Their dedication to providing an exceptional customer experience shines through in every aspect. The coffee is consistently delicious, and the Black and White option is a brilliant idea for those who enjoy experimenting with their coffee. You will be served with both espresso and flat white made with special coffee recipe. The cafe's atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a great cup of coffee. They have the best cold brew in Cardiff, well extracted and balanced. Plus, the convenient bike parking/storage makes it easy to explore the city before or after your visit. They got you covered if you ever need a space for professional meetings as well. Highly recommended!
